Project Description

Rural Access Programme provided access to goods and services to poor households including creation of local employment through construction of environment friendly district roads adopting labour based methods, plus many support income generating activities for enhancement of livelihoods of project affected households. Besides labour-based methods, small equipment were also introduced in RAP2.

In Khotang, construction of Diktel – Khotang Bazar district road total length 50 kilometers was taken up from RAP assistance. Project construction cost was NRs. 428 million

Services

  • Review of the road alignment.
  • Carried out construction field survey works and alignment lay-out including verification of the cadastral survey.
  • Review the detailed design of the alignment adopting labor based participatory and environment friendly approach including preparation of site-specific structural design of longitudinal and cross drainage structures and retaining walls.
  • Preparation of detailed cost of construction contract packages for completion of road.
  • Preparation of site-specific EMP, carrying out environmental management and bio-engineering works.
  • Conduct technical training to construction supervisors, worker groups and road construction and maintenance committees.
  • Full-time construction supervision of the road including quality control.
  • Work evaluation preparation/certification of payment bills.
  • Organized approach orientation and road supervisor & RBG training.
  • Coordination with the local institutions like VDC, DDC, DRCC, UC/UG, Local NGOs, line agencies etc.
  • Preparation of Monthly Work Progress Reports, Annual Reports and Project Completion Report including As-Built Drawings.
